Following our Wanderlust

Just over a year ago my family and I embarked on a new adventure around the world. There were a lot of unknowns but it fit like a missing piece of our puzzle. Wade and I have been married for nine years now and were in the military for seven of those years. During that time we hoped and hoped to go abroad; we both have international experience and ambitions, but it didn't happen. We left the military and took a job in Virginia. When the offer to take a job in Saudi Arabia came two days later, we jumped on board over the course of a weekend.

Our first year living abroad has been an intensely rewarding experience for all of us. I don't ever want to forget the experiences, details, beauty, and difficulties. And I hope that as the years go on we will continue to have our worldview enriched and grow our network of friends from all over the world. For our twins, Ollie and Aliya, I hope to instill the importance of going through this world with love, tolerance, bravery, a need for equality and diversity, and a love for Middle Eastern cuisine. Wish us luck!
